Psychoeducational Assessments

Understand how your child learns best.

Psychoeducational assessments are designed to better understand a student's academic abilities, learning challenges, and any emotional or behavioural factors that affect performance.

This is for when:

Your child struggles with reading, writing, or math despite working hard

Teachers have suggested testing or special education services

You notice your child takes much longer to complete homework than their peers

Your child struggles with focus and attention

You want to understand if a learning disability is affecting your child's performance

Knowledge to be gained:

What your child's specific learning strengths and challenges are

Whether a learning disability, ADHD, or other factors are affecting their performance

Targeted strategies and interventions that will help your child succeed

Specific recommendations to include in IEPs, as well as classroom accommodations

Specific recommendations for the home and study strategies

How It Works

The Process

Getting started is straightforward, and we guide you through every step.

Initial
Consultation

30–45 minutes

We begin with a conversation to understand your concerns, gather background information, and determine which assessment is right for your child. This can be done in personor virtually.

Assessment
Sessions

4–6 hours, typically split across 2–3 visits

Your child will complete a series of age-appropriate tasks, tests, and activities in a comfortable, supportive environment. We make theexperience as positive as possible. We also ask for input from parents, caregivers, teachers, etc.

Scoring and Report Preparation

2–3 weeks

We analyze the results and prepare a comprehensivewritten report that includes test scores, clinical observations, diagnoses (if applicable), and detailed, practical recommendations.

Feedback
Session

60–90 minutes

We meet with you to review the findings, answer your questions, anddiscuss next steps. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your child's profile and an actionable plan. Wecan also meet with your child's school team if requested.

Ongoing
Support
