Gifted Assessments

Help advocate for your child's needs and understand their intellectual potential.

A gifted assessment provides insight into intellectual abilities and academic strengths, helping you and your child's educators make the right decisions about placement, enrichment, and support. These can look at intelligence testing alone, or include academics (reading, writing, and math) as well for a more complete learning profile.

This is for when:

Your child seems bored or disengaged in their current classroom

Teachers say your child finishes work quickly and needs more challenge

Your child asks complex questions beyond their grade level

You're considering gifted programs or enriched learning opportunities

Your child is underachieving despite showing signs of high ability

Knowledge to be gained:

What your child's intellectual and academic abilities are

Whether your child meets criteria for gifted programs in your school board

Your child's unique learning needs and how to support their potential

Recommendations for appropriate academic placement and enrichment

Strategies to keep your child engaged and motivated in the classroom and at home

How It Works

The Process

Getting started is straightforward, and we guide you through every step.

Initial
Consultation

30–45 minutes

We begin with a conversation to understand your concerns, gather background information, and determine which assessment is right for your child. This can be done in personor virtually.

Assessment
Sessions

4–6 hours, typically split across 2–3 visits

Your child will complete a series of age-appropriate tasks, tests, and activities in a comfortable, supportive environment. We make theexperience as positive as possible. We also ask for input from parents, caregivers, teachers, etc.

Scoring and Report Preparation

2–3 weeks

We analyze the results and prepare a comprehensivewritten report that includes test scores, clinical observations, diagnoses (if applicable), and detailed, practical recommendations.

Feedback
Session

60–90 minutes

We meet with you to review the findings, answer your questions, anddiscuss next steps. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your child's profile and an actionable plan. Wecan also meet with your child's school team if requested.

Ongoing
Support
